Unity is one of the ‘Soul Sister’ Mustangs. She and her best friend, Omega, share this title, as they were both deeply bonded in the wild of South Steens, Oregon. Once gathered by the BLM, they remained side by side, seemingly attached at the hip. Always together. What made their relationship even more apparent was the fact that they both were snow white with blue eyes. Matching, bonded Mustang mares.

When they were placed on the online internet adoption by BLM, we knew we had to adopt them both and bring them forever home, together to the I AM HERD Mustang Sanctuary.

Unity is sponsored by Carol Ault and she is looking for 6 more individuals to fulfill her full sponsorship team of 7. We are committed to offering Unity a forever home here at I AM HERD, but we cannot do it alone. I AM HERD is a non-profit and depends on public support to care for this herd. Sponsorships are $50/month and receive Gifts of Gratitude and updates from Unity throughout the year.

If you feel a connection to Unity, please consider becoming her Sponsor.

Unity is the white Mustang standing behind Omega (above) Thanks to images from wild horse photographers, we know that these two went everywhere together. Both in the wild and once captured. Omega usually out in front and Unity behind her. When they were rounded up by the BLM, it was said that they stayed glued to one another’s side throughout the entire process. Their tag numbers, 36 then 37, as they went through the chutes to be branded and vaccinated, together.

Years ago Mary found images of sweet Mustang Magic in the wild of the South Steens, Oregon. Ever since, Mary has followed this specific herd of wild horses through the photographs shared online. So when these two white mares were gathered from the South Steens mountain, Mary was watching and when these two were put up for adoption – we were ready. A bond this close must be honored. These two Mustang mares deserved a life together, forever.

The journey to adopt these two Soul Sister Mustangs was such an adventurous one, that a documentary was created to share it. It is called the Wild Horse Road Trip and is available for instant download here.

“Join an adventure in ‘Trusting More’ as one wild family takes off across the United States in an RV named ‘Grace’ to adopt two bonded wild Mustang mares, the ‘Soul Sisters’, and bring them back to their forever home.”

It is hard to talk about one of these Soul Sisters, without also talking about the other, but the reality is – they are in fact deeply different. They may look identical and they may be bonded closely, but their personalities and essence are almost night and day. Perhaps that is part of why they are so close?

Omega is the crashing waves on the shore of Unity’s vast ocean deep.
Unity is the open space that holds all things and Omega is the messenger that bravely and boldly carries the word.

In one word, Unity is Space. She is the Space between the blades of grass. She is the Space that appears at the turn of the breath. She is the Space between the thoughts and the actions. She is the Space where nothing is, and thus all things are. She is the Space where Grace has room to create. She is the Space where alchemy has room to rearrange the pieces. She is the Space where all is held in pure emptiness, emptiness that is so full it explodes. Exploding of such pure, unconditional, non-judgemental, omnipresent Love. Yes, this Space, Is Unity.

Unity is in need of Sponsorship!

Sponsoring an I AM HERD horse or pony is one of the most supportive things you can do for our work and mission. And the most amazing part is the way it truly connects the Caregiver TO the horse or pony they are Sponsoring! These wild ones just know and they are so grateful for Your help!

As a Gift of Gratitude for your Sponsorship, we will mail professional print on archival paper of your sponsored horse! We send out additional Gifts of Gratitude throughout the year as well as send you personal updates from your horse or pony!

Above all, you will know that your donation ensures that we can provide the best of care to this wild one that you feel a connection to. Sponsorships are a monthly donation of $50, the cost of a bale of hay, and are a one year commitment. You may opt to have your monthly donation withdrawn automatically or you may pay in full for the year either via check or online credit card. The annual commitment begins the month you begin your Sponsorship (so a Sponsorship initiated in Feb 2020 will run through Feb 2021)

Blessings from this herd to your heart, there is truly a wild horse in all hearts that are drawn to them ~
